The Power of Storytelling & Community

Storytelling has always played a powerful role in shaping culture, building community, and inspiring change. As a podcast host, community builder, and mom, I understand how important it is to create spaces where voices are heard and stories are shared. Black Writers Weekend represents more than just an event — it celebrates creativity, culture, and the power of storytelling within our community.

Through my podcast, MamaKnowsDaughterShows, and my growing book club community, I've seen firsthand how stories connect people from different backgrounds and experiences. Conversations around motherhood, entrepreneurship, growth, and healing continue to bring women together and create meaningful impact. Storytelling gives people the courage to share their journeys and inspire others along the way.

Recently, seeing voices like Jess Hilarious step into authorship and share her story through her book highlights the importance of Black voices in literature. It's inspiring to see creatives expand their platforms and use storytelling to connect deeper with their audiences and communities.

Black Writers Weekend brings together writers, creators, and leaders who are passionate about storytelling and cultural impact. I'm excited to support, engage, and celebrate voices that deserve to be heard while continuing to build community through meaningful conversations and shared experiences.

Supporting Black writers means supporting our culture, creativity, and future.
